Remember when I kissed

everyone

at the party,

inside matter splayed out like

red, glistening

fruit.

I’m not a drunk,

I’m just

in a bad way.

Conscious now,

like quitting your job after

a nervous breakdown.

I’m in the body

alone.

The act of leaving

as a revolution,

fear as a device of logic.

I tell strangers I love them and mean it.

I spill red wine on white carpet.
